    Optimist racers will train under the racing rules of sailing for practice and will learn to compete in events with other sailors of their talent level in low key learning races. Advanced students will train to compete in the Red, White and Blue fleets segmented by a sailor’s age. Measurement Certificates and IRL Sail Numbers are issued in accordance with class association rules. The Irish Sailing cannot issue International Class Measurement Certificates or IRL numbers until the original class measurement forms are delivered to the office, faxes, photocopies or scans may not be acceptable within the class rules.
